How we communicate

When i sat down with Lauren to discuss what our first Internet experience was like i found out it was similar to mine. Her first experience was when she was about twelve and her dad set up her first email. I talked about my first experience with the Internet as using AIM.  She also mentioned this experience in her blog post and remembered using instant messenger early on as well. We communicated very well throughout this process and soon began to talk about ourselves in addition to our Internet experiences. Communicating came very easy and soon lead to us talking about other topics such as our backgrounds, majors, college courses and so on.
Talking about our first Internet experiences was sort of an ice breaker and a trip down memory lane. Reminiscing about AIM and how we used to communicate when we were first introduced to the Internet brought up how we use the Internet today. Although we still use the Internet to communicate the way we use it is very different. Not only is it faster but social media and the way we access information is quite different. Going from a buddy list with an icon to Facebook with a whole profile and pictures is a huge leap.
